Project Name: Sajida Foundation Training Center and Accommodation Facility Project Location: Gazipur Project Year: 2016-Ongoing Site area: 1.39 acre Design Team: Ar Jalal Ahmed, Ar Atiqul Haque, Ar. Reza Noor Muin Brief Description: A two-fold project adjacent to Sajida Foundation 100 bed hospital is set to be built in a site, dotted with existing full-grown Jackfruit, Mango, Jojoba and Mahagony trees. The primary consideration was to keep all the trees in place and ‘borrow’ the spaces in and between to build the Training Center and Accommodation facilities. The divided site is connected with a multiple-height green-laden corridor which is intended to make the ‘journey’ invigorating between the two facilities. The existing flora of the site is respected and local plant species is used to design the landscape which invites and nurtures birds, butterflies and other animals. Spaces are inspired from traditional architectural elements and are intended to ‘grow’ out of the landscape. The natural setting, vertical gardens, gathering/interaction spaces all play vital role to enhancing the learning environment/process.
