J.A.Architects Ltd. (JAA) has designed a large number of quality institutional, community led housing & settlement projects, healthcare, industrial, commercial and residential projects. To attain sustainability through designs,  JAA studies & draws inspiration from the elements of traditional architecture. In 1997 Ar. Jalal Ahmed originally established J.A.Architects, which evolved from his distinguished partnership practice of Diagram Architects (1983). In February, 2005 J.A.Architects was registered under the companies act as J.A.Architects Ltd. JAA have designed various projects ranging from large academic institutions to small training centers made of earth blocks and from multifamily urban apartments to low cost settlements for the rural poor. Among the recent major building projects of JAA are BRAC University Campus Design with Aga Khan Award winning architect, WOHA of Singapore, Korean EPZ HQ Building at Chittagong and female workers dormitory complex comprising of 12 buildings, 300 Bed Hospital at Boardbazar, Training Center and Accommodation Facilities for Sajida Foundation etc. Projects designed by J.A.Architects Ltd. won IAB Design Awards 2016, INTBAU Excellence Award 2016 & Berger Awards for excellence in Design, 2015 for Disappearing Lands: Supporting Communities Affected By River Erosion, won prizes in a number of prestigious architectural competitions, including limited international competition of Franco-German Chancery Building (2009), North South University Campus-international design competition (2002). Ar. Jalal Ahmed also won the 1st prize for the “Mujib Nagar Memorial Open Design Competition” (as partner of Diagram Architects 1984). Many building projects JAA have been featured in leading international and local architectural publications like- Locations, Architecture Asia, Architecture+Design, Indian Architects and Builders, Open House International, DOT, Sthapatya O Nirman.
